The main source of those must be plane tickets. When paying, I feel like there’s always a price increase that stops your order… a massive scam

Platform developers, including those who build custom ROMs, will largely also see little change, since they typically base their work on specific tags or release branches, not the main AOSP branch. Similarly, companies that release forked AOSP products rarely use the main AOSP branch due to its inherent instability.

Certaines neobanques/fintech proposent des comptes courants rémunérés. De tête je peux citer :

  • Trading 212: 3% (varie parfois, (très) léger risque)
  • Trade republic: taux d’intérêt de la BCE, actuellement 2,75% -> 2,5%

I believe LibreWolf's defaults are too strict and slow down adoption. Most options are either : all or nothing. No in-between.

Sadly, I believe the default settings are too strict and will slow down adoption by the mass, which would in term bring a better anonymity set.

It's not a great alternative to Firefox because LibreWolf is just not usable for the daily user: no DRM, no cookies, no history, websites that break... The browser should let the user choose:

  • Maximum compatibility (more tracking)
  • Mid-option (like a modded firefox but without the annoyances like cookies not being stored, having a fixed size, or forced light-mode/timezone)
  • Best privacy (pretty much the current mode)

I find myself forced to edit the default settings which is a huge privacy/fingerprinting risk. If we create 'settings groups', yes, the privacy will be hurt, but at least we will be more in each group.

What do you think about this?

Hi! Does anyone have a ressource to explain how Lemmy works in terms of the more complicated stuff, as:

  • If a community is hosted on instance A and a user that’s on instance B creates a post in this community, is the post hosted on A, B? Or are individual comments hosted on the instance of their respective authors?
  • what happens when your account gets deleted? Are all my messages deleted? Does this happen to all instances (it syncs the deletion?)
  • do instances cache posts and comments posted on other instances? If so, RAM or disk?
  • will having too many instances increase the load of all instances? (If they all have to sync?)
  • if I want to check the comments of a post, does my client ask this to my instance of to the instance of the author or to the community's instance?

Questions like this. I guess most will be answered by explaining deeply how ActivityPub works but if anyone has that info, please share :)

I couldn’t find one. It’s only decentralized if people use other servers!

Does anyone know a nice iOS mail client app? Preferably open-source.

I don't really care about E2EE, PGP.., and it should have notifications. Best thing would be that I can self-host the notifications server OR have a notifications server running that's open-source (so Canary Mail it out of the question)

I want another client that isn't Apple Mail also

So far I found Preside but sadly it isn't open-source

I thought it was because they made gambling open to minors and took 30% of all game sales

Just open their privacy policy and done. They sell your browsing info, and you could stop it there

Update: Mint's website doesn't actually seem to be using Adsense. It might be a mention that hasn't been removed from the privacy policy.

The Linux Mint website uses google Adsense to sell your browsing data to google so they can better track your preferences and deliver personalized ads…

They state they do it for the money. Pretty scammy from my opinion. They should remove all the google things from their website (including analytics) and use their own solution instead.

Any reason why it happens now instead of when all the major cryptos went up?

I don’t understand the market 😵, just seems like trading bots doing their thing

[-] [email protected] 30 points 8 months ago

I have never understood the goal of passkeys. Skipping 2FA seems like a security issue and storing passkeys in my password manager is like storing 2FA keys on it: the whole point is that I should check on 2 devices, and my phone is probably the most secure of them all.

Kraken continuously reviews listed tokens to determine the impact from regulatory changes on our offerings.

As one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency platforms, we are constantly working to support the most comprehensive set of digital assets possible in alignment with applicable regulatory and compliance obligations.

What’s changing?

After thorough consideration, and exploration of all viable alternatives, we concluded we have no choice but to delist Monero (XMR) in the European Economic Area (EEA) due to regulatory changes.

We did not take this decision lightly and remain committed to providing our European clients with an exceptional trading experience.

What’s next?

  • On October 31st 2024 at 15:00 PM UTC, we will halt trading and deposits of all XMR markets (XMR/USD, XMR/EUR, XMR/BTC, XMR/USDT) for clients registered in the EEA. Any open XMR orders will also be automatically closed at this time. Note: Clients will remain able to withdraw XMR on Kraken until December 31st, 2024.
  • December 31st 2024 at 15:00 PM UTC is the deadline for withdrawing XMR. Any clients still holding an XMR balance after this date will have their XMR automatically converted to BTC by Kraken at the going market rate.
  • By January 6th 2025 23:59 PM UTC, we will distribute the converted XMR as BTC back to any clients who held XMR at the withdrawal deadline.

Any clients who hold an XMR balance at the time of the withdrawal deadline will be automatically included in the conversion of XMR to BTC.

As a leading cryptocurrency exchange, Kraken remains mission-driven and committed to supporting the most comprehensive set of digital assets possible, in alignment with our regulatory and compliance obligations.

We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support as we navigate the evolving regulatory landscape.

Here's the coupon: MAILPLUSINTROACQ

Only applies for the first month of Mail Plus, for the monthly subscription

Got this coupon from their Brave marketing campaign

Here is the link for the official campaign: https://proton.me/l/mail-intro-offer (only works if you create a new account, but you can use the coupon I provided and I believe it should work for existing accounts)

Proton leaked the recovery email. Apple has never given any guarantee about their mail service, which isn’t the case of Proton

Don’t put any recovery info on Proton

I’m sure they’ll find a way to sell their components at full price just like what they do right now. They’ll surely keep their DRMs in place and prevent repairs with other components.

If they support it, it is because they modified it enough so that they benefit from it.
