American is not a language. And no we don't love American food we barely call it food. For the rest we are too dependant it's true but it's evolving and in my country (France) we are ready to moove on. We have a defence industry and il not sur companies will view the usa as a stable market anymore and will devert from it.

I agree with your reasoning. But Montpellier is a quite a tourist place especially during summer. Maybe it still make profit with them it is not a smal minority.

Franchement ça m'étonnes pas quand j'y repense je crois que je me suis fait avoir deux fois aussi a signer mon solde de tout compte avant et sur l'une des deux fois je suis me suis fait entuber. Franchement mon expérience des PME est vraiment mauvaise, et celle que j'ai eu dans un grande boîte, pas ouf non plus. Alors j'ai pas un échantillon très grand j'espère que c'est pas représentatif. Je suis maintenant en collectivité et putain quel plaisir detre dans la mienne. Les congés sont respectés, pas d'ambiance d'entreprise de crush ou de management toxique, pas besoin d'aller quémander des trucs auquel tu as le droit, le service RH fait bien son taff. En contrepartie il y a d'autres défauts mais au quotidien pour le moment je préfère largement.

Urbaniste dans une ville du même genre ici. Pour moi c'est pas une bonne idée si c'est la seule action. Au final les gens vont très vite s'habituer et ça va rien changer voir ça va brouiller les codes. Les lignes classiques ne sont déjà pas respectées si il y a la moindre ambiguïté, la sur un espace comme ça je pense qu'il y a mieux à faire que des lignes partout. Après si c'est la première étape peu coûteuse et que d'autres actions suivent derrière ça peut être bien.

L'art sur asphalte ça peut servir mais pas seul. Il faut traiter la cause de passage des voitures ici (concrètement voir si il y a des flux de passage traversant et les transférer sur des rues adjacentes plus adapter en contraignant le flux, ou encore travailler sur le stationnement ou sur les pôles générateurs de flux comme les commerces de passage type tabac), améliorer les alternatives concrètement stationnement vélo, circulation pietonenne, aspect de la rue (c'est dans ce point là que l'art sur asphalte intervient mais ce n'est qu'un outil et pas le plus efficace) l'usage de la rue avec du mobilier ou des animations. Bref c'est pas simple, j'ai des projets d'expérimentation dans ma ville faudrait que j'en fasse un post un jour peut être. Mais c'est pas simple j'espère que ça marchera mais c'est plus un marathon qu'un sprint.

I agree with you, and I am an urbanist working in a small town in France (5000 hab) we thought about using this kind of technique but ultimately for the reasons you mention we back track a bit. For the few test we did, we noticed that paint is never enough (car already does not respect regular paint, a bit on our part in my opinion cause we design it wrong but that another subject). You have to work on why ppl come here by car, how they can use other roads, make this one difficult for non essential uses and make the other modes more convenient. Paint alone can't do that.

But, with other measures, as a transition step to a long term project asphalt art can be useful. (I mean, I hope so xD we worked on a summer redisign project with light elements, artist event and paint in one of our street. I hope it will work to be the first step of a better project).
