It's an incredible show about workforce organizing and worker comaraderie in a hellish corporate environment. I haven't seen the last episode, though.

pink floyd without Roger waters is like Metallica without Cliff Burton, except probably even worse.

"I come here in a spirit of friendship to explain the mechanisms of our sanctions, the importance of joining us to express shared resolve and to advance shared interests. And yes, there are consequences to countries that actively attempt to circumvent or backfill these sanctions," he said, also noting that India and Russia are looking to get around the sanctions using their own payment system.

"We are very keen for all countries, especially our allies and partners, not to create mechanisms that prop up the ruble and that attempt to undermine the dollar-based financial system," he said.

I come here humbly requesting you to remain poor by spending 3x the bargain price Russia is offering you for oil in the name of peace and wanting to be part of the cool western kids.

Don’t organize, don’t agitate, don’t protest. Just stand still in your closet and hibernate until the class revolution has swept through this land and installed pure communism.

I love the random 'Andaluz' in the map of otherwise traditional caliphates.

Disclaimer: I'm not going to pretend to know too much about Trotsky and his history and I'm certainly not going to come to the defense of Trotskyists, we all know they're the last breed of leftists this world needs. And I'm sure we're well aware of Trotsky's personal failings, of him being an annoying, know-it-all contrarian douche.

But at the end of the day, Trotsky was a revolutionary to the bone and one of the most influential in modern human history. One could say he is one of the founding fathers of the Soviet Union. As misguided as he may have been, he dedicated his life to communism in the Soviet Union. And yet, his name was tarnished and maligned in the Soviet History books. Stalin intense hatred of Trotsky drove him to murder the man. Trotky's assassin, Ramon Mercader, was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. I mean, damn dude, that's a bit much, right? And throughout all of Khrushev's dumbass de-Stalinization efforts, Trotsky was one of the few Soviets whose name was never rehabilitated.

All I'm asking is are we too harsh on Trotsky and do we judge him too harshly based on the actions of his followers? Do you think Lenin would agree with Stalin's treatment of Trotsky and with communist history's treatment of him?

Most dogs greater than 40 lbs have the capacity to severely injure adults and children despite not having the jaw strength of Pitbulls.

I think you can say this about Wolf of Wall Street as well.

Feels like any one who studies science and engineering is being funneled into the data and computer sciences and it's causing alienation with their work and artificially creating a low-wage workforce. If you studied Biology, you're forced to do data shit, if you studied Civil Engineering you might not be able to get a job in the field so you end up working in IT for half the money they would pay someone WHO ACTUALLY STUDIED THAT SHIT.

It's like asking every football player to play basketball. You play with basketball players and you end up riding the pine because, well, you suck ass and YOU NEVER LEARNED HOW TO PLAY BASKETBALL.

Completely alienating to be forced to work with people who are experts in the field, doing shit you never learned how to do and aren't good at and then corporate gets the excuse to pay you much less than some computer nerd.

It's like the jail skit.

You studied Art? ~~Jail~~ Computers.

You studied Robotics? ~~Jail~~ Computer.

You studied Botany? ~~Jail~~ Data shit.

Imagine if you played the drums your entire life and the only job you could get had you playing the fucking violin, you know, cause you can read music. What the fuck man.

It's not just that I would make less money being a biologist than being a fucking programmer. I'd be completely fine with that. No, you have to be a shitty programmer, make half as much money, and eat shit because you suck at it unlike Dave the CS douche.

Like, I've worked as a manual laborer on construction sites and in restaurants and I found that pretty alienating because I wasn't as skilled as other people but shit, at least I didn't pay college tuition to work and at least felt way more satisfied with my job.
