Let's do a laser-engraving into glass. Would be hard to beat that.

Yeah... I had a USB stick that was fat32 formatted but didn't have a drive letter assigned. So… it just doesn't shw up. Now biggie, right? Quickly add one in the disk manager… except I couldn't because the "Snap-in feature wasn't installed, please use Windows Update and try again" (It was the latest Windows 11). For assigning a drive letter. Of course it would do that if I freshly format the stick…

That OS is a total mess.

It's more of a generational issue, really. Convincing someone who was already indoctrinated as a baby and began to "pray" as early as their arm coordination allowed it is almost cruel, really. At that point it's reality-shattering. Let alone if your religion included any kind of body-modification, especially without anesthesia (that shit burns itself into the very fabric of your brain as a baby). In that case it's even worse, as it'd entail the realisation that your body has been violated (some may use stronger wording).

At the end of the day what counts is that you're a decent person, no matter your stance on religion or spirituality.

Deployment of Nepenthes and also Anubis (both described as "the nuclear option") are not hate. It's self-defense against pure selfish evil, projects are being sucked dry and some like ScummVM could only freakin' survive thanks to these tools.

Those AI companies and data scrapers/broker companies shall perish, and whoever wrote this headline at arstechnica shall step on Lego each morning for the next 6 months.

I'm still flabbergasted we've arrived at games costing 100€ now. Not some collector's edition, just the normal game. On a console that'll set you back 500€ on its own, not to mention the service subscriptions. Even the god damn next-gen improvements for existing games supported through backwards compat now cost a 2-digit sum. What's next, subscriptions for device features (which you already paid big money for) to work like it's a freaking BMW? It's just utter insanity, and people are still paying for all that shit.

If I had a dollar for every time the Nvidia driver screwed me over I still couldn't order anything with it because my graphics driver wouldn't load.

Non-destructive editing was way, way more important. Shapes can be done differently anyway.

No, of course not. The accident eats all the light I'd need for that.

I'm super grateful in this regard to live in Germany, where free doctor visits are not a benefit of something but fucking minimum for literally everyone. Even though it may take a while for specialists. I even get benefits for going to free appointments at the dentist. Safes money and pain later, leading to more productiveness as well.

Was really weird watching "Breaking Bad" just as I had cancer myself years ago (Cancer-free today 🙂). Being in a hospital, receiving anything I needed just by showing my insurance card (for which I didn't have to pay anything either as I was without a job at that point). And as long as our government ain't complete dicks I'm more than glad to pay that back.

The US just weirds me the fuck out. I don't get this selfish lack of solidarity towards your fellow humans.
