No, I understood your comment, but I don't think you understood mine. I'm also not sure you knew who Biden was when you voted for him. He absolutely was successfully pushed to the left from where he was for his entire political history. Biden was to the right of Reagan on a bunch of issues, chief among them being Israel.
He was still a better choice than Trump. Anyone competent in foreign policy can draw a direct line from Trump to the Abraham Accords to October 7. (Biden has continued support for the accords, so his hands aren't clean either.). When it comes to Israel, anyone claiming that Trump is better is either ignorant or full of shit.
I'm with you on the 2020 primaries, but voting for Biden in the general was the right call.
If Trump wins this election, here is what will follow. Trump will pull America out of NATO, and Putin will expand his war. Trump will either change noting in Israel, or he will sever all aid and weapons sales. If it's the latter, Israel will pivot to Russia and we can contend with what that means in terms of American secrets and weapons in Israel.
Voting for Biden in the general is again the right move, as much as that totally sucks. Personally I'm hoping he and Trump both keel over before America has to choose again.
I'm not voting for Biden again. Period.
Care to walk me through your decision process?
Sure.
In the 2016 general we made it pretty clear we weren't going to vote for HRC and why. People ignored us. Trump won. In the 2020 primaries Biden realized he needed the votes of progressives and leftists who were fed up being told our ideas were too radical and wouldn't vote for anyone who said so. So he played it up as if he was willing to compromise with leftists and a lot of us gave him a chance in the 2020 general election. Turns out he's a strike blocking, genocide supporting piece of shit. Not to mention the host of other issues I have with him regarding the way he fucked the BBB, negotiated down on student loan forgiveness, signed another corporate giveaway on the chips act, has Yellen and Powell in an outright war against American workers and gave last minute limp dicked support to the UAW.
I don't have any faith we can change Biden. So instead I'm focusing on the pieces of shit who voted for him in the primaries. They fucked up. They need to understand we aren't bluffing here. If the Democrat candidate is a pro-corporate piece of trash we won't show up. They can either compromise with leftists or lose to fascists. Again. You would think demonstrating this once in 2016 would be enough for them but no there are people who are proud to say they voted for Biden in the primaries. I hope to see that change. I want people to feel ashamed of voting for Biden in the primaries. I want them to know they are responsible for his actions and consequent failure in the general election. I also hope to enlist others in this effort.
Don't block strikes.
Don't support genocide.
If Biden makes some changes here I'll vote for him otherwise my vote is going 3rd party. But I think we all know he's not going to stop being a pro-corporate, genocide supporting piece of shit.
