I played it two days ago and can't get it out of my head. I absolutely love the premise and it truly feels like a dark fantasy.

Combat was really fun and voice acting was super solid. I was really excited about the game before but now I am fully on board.

What are your impressions?

I haven't played it myself yet but I watched the cutscenes and they were the most over-the-top, edgy GOT story beats I've seen in a while. Just did not vibe with the tone at all. The idea that the game is meant to be "adult" when games like Yakuza 7 tell extremely adult stories without characters yelling "cock." Big "this ain't your DADDY'S final fantasy" vibes that just made me cringe.

I'm gonna get it because I treat games like artifacts of anthropological study but Im not looking forward to the narrative so far - couple that with CBU3s terrible track record with women and the fact that the only dark skinned characters are a clear middle eastern, turban wearing parallel lol.

Yep, the game looks like a cringefest. I have no idea how this can be considered ‘dark’ fantasy.

I call it Shadow the Hedgehog storytelling, when it’s “adult” from a kid’s perspective, but ends up looking even more childlike.

Meanwhile, genuinely mature stories actually kind of seek out some of that childlike wonder because they’re jaded by the realities of adult life
