Edit: a friend just told me that not only did the guys only uncle not die in iraq, he was also never in the military and the guy entirely made it up just to try and shame me for making fun of veterans

NTA personally I would have gone for "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" for a more personal touch but "womp womp" is a perfectly appropriate way of showing your approval.
