You've fallen prey to one of the oldest laws of the internet, which states that the quickest way to get an answer to something is to post the wrong answer and wait for someone to correct you.

It's called Murphy's Law.

It's called Murphy's Law.

My reddit brain is screaming right now.

I've been making this joke for so long that I forgot what the actual law is called and no one will tell me 🥲

I think it is Poe's law.

EDIT: Fuck, nope, thats the law that says basically /someone/ will always believe the most ludicrous nonsense someone else posts as a joke.

... which at this point can describe the entire right wing gamer chud type of people, who all told us they were just joking about being Nazis until they literally turned into them.

Either way my error here means my nerd card has been revoked and i will now be condemned to remedial research in the no horny jail for the rest of my life, specifically doomed to study the mating patterns of furries.

Note: There are a surprising amount of Nazi furries. Someone send a sociologist or anthropologist.

EDIT 2: The correct answer is Cunningham's law. Yes, I just remembered it. No, you cannot see my browsing history.

We should stop naming laws after people and use descriptive names. Advice Seeking Wrong Answer Rule. Don't Engineer Wrong Way To Do Thing Rule.

You know the thing - always works in a pinch.
