I have an anxiety disorder and semi regularly think that there is a burglar in my home. My strategy is always: stay in my room, make little sounds so that the burglar knows I’m home and awake, wait for them to leave so I can feel safe again. Of course there’s never actually a burglar. But I think it’s idiotic to seek for confrontation that could lead to someone dying over some personal items.
