[–] KnilAdlez@hexbear.net 43 points 3 days ago (10 children) He's such a lying sack of shit permalink fedilink source hideshow 10 child comments replies: [–] BoxedFenders@hexbear.net 52 points 3 days ago (9 children) I believe it in this case. He's one of the wealthiest men in the world but chooses to live in the same house in Omaha that he bought 60 years ago. He's also driving around in the same old Cadillac that's older than most of the posters here. The guy is just blandness personified and doesn't care for the finer things in life. Imagine if you could live ANYWHERE in the world, and end up choosing Nebraska. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 9 child comments replies: [–] KnilAdlez@hexbear.net 51 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (4 children) It is still a million dollar home. Along with a Laguna beach house. He may be miserly, but I don't think half the things he says about his frugality are true. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] MarxMadness@hexbear.net 40 points 3 days ago* I don't think half the things he says about his frugality are true. I'm reminded of how Clarence Thomas used to have a similar reputation ("he drives around in an RV for vacation!"), but then it came out that he was taking a bunch of bribes involving private planes and yachts. permalink fedilink source parent [–] BoxedFenders@hexbear.net 18 points 3 days ago* (1 child) He doesn't live in destitution of course. But a million dollar home and a beach house is easily attainable for a surgeon or corporate lawyer. And you gotta remember, a billionaire has the net worth of a thousand doctors. And Buffet has over 100 times more on top of that. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] KnilAdlez@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago I acknowledged he is miserly, but its not exactly a two story in town permalink fedilink source parent [–] EatMoreMacroplastics@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago Also, it says nowhere that it's the only house he owns. It's absolutely possible that it's something he just hoards, like a drawer full of knickknacks you haven't seen the inside of in a decade, and of comparable relative worth to him. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Kuori@hexbear.net 20 points 3 days ago (1 child) genuinely not even worth having billions of dollars if you have to live in nebraska permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 5 points 3 days ago idk, i'd live there for half that permalink fedilink source parent [–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago He is the textbook definition of a miser. permalink fedilink source parent [–] agentant@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago Obviously isn't true because Nebraska isn't real.
