As an American, I assure you there was no foreign interference needed in making my neighbors awful people.

I hardly think that's different for Europeans.

You seriously think it's Russia "wreaking havoc" across the world? We may live in the same country, but a different planet.

Even most Americans admit that's not true .

He's not wrong but is purposely missing all the instances of Russia and China selling vast amounts of weaponary as well for their proxy conflicts. So he's misleading entirely with this ommission and and denial of it.

Easy, both are imperialistic who invade and supply to global south countries to perpetuate constant conflict and to get people in control of territories with resources they want for cheap. None of them are innocent and anyone arguing for innocence is no better than an USA MAGA.

Those pesky global south countries perpetuating constant conflict. The world could be such a peaceful place, if only they wouldn‘t do what Russia and China want. Either way, can’t be that those backwards (brown and black) people could have any kind of self-efficacy. Surely the least racist take around.

Oh look, the servers are back up. So who yanked .ml's chain to come argue with just me? I'm honored, truly, that you all continue to waste your time making such arguments when I laugh in your face. As well you misunderstand, as usual, I'm talking about instability and coups and civil wars in the southern global countries the northern take advantage of. All imperialism is bad, okay, how is this a hard concept for people like you?

How it really works: I got bored, checked Lemmy, it’s been a while, saw some fun nonconfrontational turmoil and was more entertained by that and by the quality of the answers, than what late night YouTube had on offer. Until this post I didn‘t even realise that Ukraine did another terrorist attack on civilian infrastructure. I see no reason to celebrate this kind of stuff like it‘s done here by the users that think so highly of their own morals.

I come at you, because your takes are shit.

One point that could actually be a cause of confusion, so I ask you to please clarify: Do you count Russia and China towards „the northern countries“?

As an American, I assure you there was no foreign interference needed in making my neighbors awful people.

I assure you, their number 1 tactic is finding people on the fence of being evil scumbags and giving them a nice push in the wrong direction. And this isn't a recent event. They have been doing this at least since Soviet Union got started.

Anyone who has ever wondered what the fuck happened to the brains of their parents, grandparents or even your own brain in the last 20 years. Most probably this.

Did you know at least 6 Marvel movies have worked closely with American military?

Sure a random thread on reddit or lemmy is the real propaganda.

Edit : Unless of course it's the make believe parliament game on /pol/.

Edit 2: It's really getting hard to keep track of what's propaganda and what's not these days.

Born too late to witness the greatness of Sergei Bondarchuk, born too early to witness truly democratic artistic expression. Born just in time to witness Avengers Assemble™ episode 17 The Return of WonderIronThanos.

How many of those movies has the average American seen? The only one I can think of is Come and See, (and that's more of an artistic movie about the horrors of war) and I'm aware of the Wolf Warrior movies but I haven't actually seen them. Otherwise, I don't think I could even name another, much less be influenced by them, and that's more than most people could.

Or are you not claiming that Russian and Chinese movies have a comparable influence on Americans as American movies? In that case, it's just a whataboutism, not relevant to the discussion. We're talking about who has influence over Americans.

Boy, you purposely are being obtuse. The propaganda movies are as influential in their respective countries as the USA is in the USA. It's been the history of cinema for a country to work with cinema to make pro-military propaganda so no one country is innocent of doing or have done this. Ukraine does it and I show more support for them fighting an imperialist invader who made arguments later for their invasion. The thing people like you don't seem to get, I don't like the USA either, or the permanent UN Security Council members for that fact. No country is innocent of criticism how it has handled itself in the past and presently. If you think anyone is innocent, I bid you farewell and go back to the hole you crawled out of.

You seem to think this conversation is about whether these countries are better than those countries, but that's not what we were talking about, at all. I swear, y'all never listen to what we actually say and just fill in our side of the debate with whatever the hypothetical tankie that exists only in your mind said.

I'm not dick-waving about this country is better than that country because it doesn't influence it's people. I am simply pointing out that the US government has far more capacity to influence Americans than any other government in the world does. That's it. Whether other countries also influence their citizens the same way has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what I actually said.

"No one country is innocent of doing or have done this," yeah and I never said anything to contradict that at all.

"If you think anyone is innocent," I don't, but thank you for asking instead of just putting words in my mouth.

Nah I work in bot detection. Russian troll farms are massive and working incredibly hard to destabilize the world. I'd go as far as to say it's one of the biggest threats we face right now. It's just destroying society for sake of destroying it and people like you still don't believe it.

So shitposting $30k on Facebook "hacked" the 2016 election? Come on. That's tears in the rain of what very domestic bigot amplifiers spent, and half of it was Bernie stuff.

Stop looking for foreign boogiemen for problems capitalism caused.

Why not both? Russian strategy is well known and publicly available: amplify conflict subjects and spread maximum lies.

The original issue might be legit but it's distorted and amplified to the point where it can no longer be solved for even with best intent. It really works.

It's all interconnected. Domestic capitalists? Foreign capitalists? They're all the same because they don't view themselves as nations of any nation. They're allegiance is only to themselves and use each other as opportunities. They can only trust each other when they have backmail on each other, which is the real main purpose of Epstein's parties are for.

Zuck allowing foreign propaganda on his platform is not because he believes in Putin's cause, but because he might want a favor from Putin or Russia in the future. To him, it's a capitalist investment.

There's plenty of examples in history of opportunists tweaking the news to rile up bigotry for a profit. History never stopped happening.

Also, I called them the Epstein class. Epstein might have been involved, but there's probably hundreds or thousands of spooks would are doing shit. Epstein himself stands apart because he was sloppy.

Spies and spooks don't do it out of a sense of loyalty or professionalism. They like doing it. Even if Mossad or the CIA were completely aligned against Russia, that doesn't stop their assets from fucking around.

The Epstein Files showed that Epstein was trying to destroy Trump at this point. He was found to have been texting his bought Virgin Islands rep during the Cohen testimony to help attack Trump.

This only shows he was trying to help Putin AGAINST Trump, and only through Norway because he DID NOT have contacts in Russia.

Norway is indicted here, not Russia. Seems their Princess was a former child sex slave who still adores Epstein.

The Epstein Files were released by Trump. They're not completely trustable, especial when they can just remove whatever they want without it looking foraged.

Also, I've been referencing the run up to the 2016 election when Russia was ramping up their misinformation campaigns. They've had outlines for these things for a long time.
