Anyway, its funny thay they cant attack on policy or even "trumps accomplishments" (he only appeals to people still in the MAGA cult), so they just have [twitch streamer nobody has heard of or cares about]. People who know him already like him cause he is anti-israel and an OG supporter of the most popular politician in the country. People who look any deeper than cable news like him for the same reasons.

They not only spread, but they truly believe the propaganda about "'progressives' can mayyyybe win in blue mamdanistan, but not in red states", it isnt working and it it isnt going to work. Younger liberals dont even give a fuck about being anti-China, and the Israel and Iran shit is extremely unpopular on the left. $70m couldn't even save them in the Michigan primary. The empire has fallen, and I think the US is gonna go full socdem unless the fascists successfully cancel elections.

Do I have major disagreements with these people? Absolutely, the land I live on (and thus the system of economic relations) will still be fully subject to the global capitalist order, to say the very least (someone else can list off the socdem crimes if anyone needs a refresher).

I do nonetheless think that it is what is going to happen. To me, the question is what do we do next in response to this?

I think you're getting a little ahead of actual results. DSA succdem candidates have started winning a bit but that's really far from the entire US going succdem.

But still I think it's worth thinking about. Maybe nothing? I want fully automated luxury gay space communism. But succdems are a whole hell of a lot better than ice agent fascist death squads.

That will leave the actual fight to the next generation but there's not a whole lot I can do about that. Treats to the working class will neuter any revolutionary spirit.

I little ahead yeah sure, but "Bernie would have won" and the establishment have almost entirely lost control of the narrative. Its difficult to imagine them doing anything besides getting more aggressive to the left if all they have is "Hasan did 9-11" which didnt even work in New York City.

Trump is unpopular across the board unless you're full chud, he has no achievements besides decimating the empire in some really visible ways. AES and DSAers actually have substance to their message, and give people something to believe in. I am impressed by AES and mamdani's rhetorical skills every time I see them talk on YouTube, and it shows in their approval results.

People on both sides are tired of the Israel shit and the datacenter shit. The Iran war is very unpopular unless you're MAGA.

Hate to be too optimism-pilled, but to stop the left (over the next few years), the fascists will need to seize power in a very ugly and unpopular way (could work, but it wont last forever), or the establishment will have to try and purge and crush it (will probably work for exactly one election cycle).

We do know from history that we shouldn't necessarily expect revolution to happen in the imperial core, but at the periphery. Happy to be wrong about this of course, but it was always a long shot. In my opinion, our goal is always to harness revolutionary and/or other left/working class energy in a way that weekend the core institutions. This both the right thing to do, and gives our comrades at the periphery a bit of breathing room to do some very cool shit^TM.

If the US is under a demand to fund social programs, if there isn't any faith in things like random decades long military campaigns, and if people can see how things are going in the PRC relatively easily, they dont really have any outs besides fascism. But that's here now, and people dont actually like it when they can/have to see it.

If parts of the country snap to fascism even harder, then the genocial United States empire will be facing a balkanization crisis (see username), further weakening it. I dont want to see a full civil war in the 2030s (the fascists win 99/100 of the simulations, cause the liberals arent gonna do shit if that pops off), but it isnt totally unrealistic (like 75% unrealistic) to imagine a devolution of the US to and EU-type entity in like 2050 if there are states radicalized against free Healthcare or something.

Anyway, it sounds like you're open to my train of thought here, just wanted to elaborate a little more.

I see your idea. I do think it's socialism or barbarism. And I think the contradictions are sharpening hard in the imperial core.

The cost of living is out of control meaning that there will need to be some concessions. But that's been spiraling out of control since the 80s. We might be finally at a breaking point but we'll need to see some juice from politicians.

I don't really agree with the balkanization thought you have. I think that's super complicated and who knows.

Yeah its definitely a bit of a stretch, but fun to speculate on. I pick up on it cause the US isnt a real "nation", it's only fueled by white supremacy and settler/imperial dominance. There aren't many places to dominate, and the primary "culture" that binds the people is capitalist consumption (which more isolating than binding. The economic bonds are strong though, I dont really see them unravelling very easily (which is why the best-case would be a EU-type beat).

I just think that the idea the fash win that 99/100 is not correct. Maybe that's my hopium but I gotta be honest I think they're in for a real nasty surprise and the fash don't really do well regarding their own hubris and estimating their enemies.

So much of the conservative political movement has been astroturfed and even this DSA revival has been real people putting real work in. And as much shit as the DSA gets, there's some real radicals in there dragging the org left.

If and when the shooting starts, these communities are already built, the relationships are there. That's really hard to defeat even with the loose organizing like patriot front.
