I like the Japanese system if one is going to have a for profit medical system. That is all products and services have a capped profit and hospitals must list prices.. way better than the game of insurance companies hiking up prices so your copay is the same price as the original item or treatment.

What's to be gained by having hospitals privately owned at all? It's not like they're competing over price or service... They're just monopolies all the way down the supply chain.

Regulating private health care is polishing a turd.

We didn't miss a huge opportunity to make private firefighting work, or new advances in fire suppression. We just missed out on a bunch of pointless house fires. Today that's every sick or dead person who could be doing things instead.
