One of the best things my parents did was not let me play video games.
Kids can have a little video games as a treat.
I think if I have kids I'm gonna break out the old consoles in order, so that they have an appreciation for the history and because it'll probably be a self-limiting hobby due to looking like shit compared to anything on a phone
Up until the early-mid 90s there were the lingering effects of arcade-oriented design where shit was super hard to get your quarters, but yeah even that's not so bad compared to the newer shit that takes your quarters digitally.
