Anti-AI solidarity

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
Was going to post the same thing. It's not just the arts either, all branches of academia seem to be suffering from this.
A lot of the dev process is tedious as fuck. I've never met a developer who enjoys writing tests, for example. That plus Agile/kanban long since totally dehumanized the development process by treating devs as fungible engineering units.
Also like every 5 minutes there's a new framework and tool that will become obsolete 5 years later and people don't want to keep learning all of them while every project does their own thing. Programming slop started long before AI took over (looking at you JavaScript)
