Bolding mine

-- Maybe the UP is/was a red wall, but we will hear out anyone who comes here bc of being one of the most ignored parts of the country. Bernie came to the UP and my alma mater NMU in 2024 and left a lasting impression that wasn't forgotten even two full years later. With the help of AES coming up in 2025 also. Stevens was by far the more comfortable candidate acc to prior electoral history up here, but | didn't see any of her lawn signs anywhere, and we ahem really don't like being mocked or impersonated ahem .

We Yoopers were a part of history last night, as it's very uncommon for someone to take the state without Wayne county. We helped AES do that. I knew the UP was moving left and anti-establishment from being sick of everyone on both sides forgetting we exist but I didn't think it was far enough left to go for someone with such an obviously Muslim name, as we're quite a bit rural up here all things considered. I am also a poll worker here in MI, and on the primary-specific stuff, I heard talk of lots of crossvotes by republicans trying to vote for a democrat in the senate race to game it so the weaker dem would face Rogers, unknowingly voiding their votes despite all the instructions all over ballots, polling places, etc. And then the whole McMorrow thing that split the Stevens vote up. Lots of factors that ended up giving my old UMich professor a win! So exciting for us up here- we're never featured in national news, and even if, generally not for good things tbh.
