badposting
badposting is a comm where you post badly
This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.
Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?
Rules:
- Do not post good posts.
- Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
- Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
- This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
- This rule intentionally left blank.
- If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.
Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo
I like all of them except 4 and 5. I was surprised by how much I liked Peace Walker and it gave me false hope 5 would be a return to form and we'd all remember 4 as the really bad one. Peace Walker's presentation and gameplay are sadly quite badly hampered by it being a PSP game.

Also it features a sexualised loli-type character in a prominent role because that was all the rage in anime in 2010 I guessSame. Pretty much exactly. Ive wanted about this before but the trailers for 5 and ground zeroes really made me think we were getting something way different. The body double thing was such a cop out. Show big boss being a bad person, as a nonaligned mercenary leader in the 80s operating in Afghanistan and Angola? It felt so fucking safe.
What I loved about MGS3 and PW was how they wove real Cold War history into their narratives but MGS5 just feels completely disconnected from the actual decade its supposed to take place in. There are no Soviet, Afghani or Angolan characters to put faces to the various factions that are supposed to be warring in the game's two maps so they just feel like generic video game sandboxes filled with generic bad guys instead of real places. No real villains to speak of either outside of Skullface
As a certified MGS4 hater that positively despises basically everything that game introduced to the canon I hate that the dumb overarching metaplot about Big Boss feuding with Zero and Cipher was made front and center, completely sidelining the actual real-world conflict(s)
I just wanted to finally see Big Boss become the character that the characters in MGS1 talked about, instead Kojima told me that I was the Big Boss all along. Wow, such cinema
