We have actual adults in positions of immense power bickering over a clearly made-up story about pool vandals, a story that led to an innocent American having his life turned upside down.

Conservatives are fundamentally incapable of good government. They don't believe in it. They don't believe in fairness applied to all. They believe in hierarchy. In-groups to protect and out-groups to bind. They don't have good empathy.
