What does an instance's Guarantor mean?

Not that I hold issue with lemmy.world, I'm just wondering what it means in terms of hierarchy.
E.g. if lemmy.world goes bad and tries to take over the world, what power can they wield over feddit.uk?
Do we (as in feddit.uk) require "sugar daddies"? I've not seen one of those "you can fund/contribute" things for a while, and have no idea how the budget is at the moment (or if there's a link to it somewhere).
Do tell us if we're skint, and we can all chuck a tenner in :)
No, no, I'm just trying to be funnny. Our finances are complely open and as you can see we are getting more donations than we spend and have about a years worth of funding in reserve. So unless the value of the pound collapses, there's nothing to worry about there.
