Some people here are citing the Opium Wars as still impacting how drug use is seen in China. I think the whole โdrug warโ ideology comes from, in America, letโs be real, suburban paranoia and racism. But in China itโs tied to the other societal effects of colonization. Presumably thereโs other things, this is certainly not a justification.
Opium is opium though, cannabis isn't, it's entirely american drug propaganda that has people worldwide thinking they're even remotely equitable
You're aggressively missing the point with regards to how cultural images develop, to defend an ideal where it's "entirely" the US's responsibility for complex issues in China. Disengaging.
