At the very least, I can't see mods wanting to have a front-end that hides things in ways that they can't turn off.
Otherwise, people on the blocklist would become effectively immune to moderators using the front-end, because they'd be completely hidden.
Yeah, I know that my instance's admins have announced they'll be shutting down their Tesseract frontend. As I said, I expect others will as well for the reasons you mention, but I haven't kept track (and don't see their posts pinned to my feed obviously) so I didn't want to assume.
