Appreciate all the analysis of profits and economics, but its really much more simple than that, according to theory. The system creates two diametrically opposed classes, what is in the interest of one class is against the interests of the other.

What is good for them is bad for us. What is good for us is bad for them.

The ruling class has internalized this contradiction, and has taken to killing us and preserving themselves. This is a natural conditioning of generations of lassaiz faire capitalism.

The trick, is that while we have to oppose the billionaires in order to build class power, the objective is not to punish billionaires (although restorative justice will be a historical necessity) it is to overthrow them on the way to overthrowing capitalism. Only by overthrowing capitalism and class society can we heal the rifts between humans, and between humanity and nature.
