MODERATORS
Canada is superior. No question. We are just as capable of violence and fascism, true, but the difference is we choose not to go down those roads in the modern age.
Yeah we'll see about that. With the rise of white supremacist neo-nazi groups in Canada and white nationalism in general, I think Canada is just as capable to choose that road as any other country.
We're not special.
Only AFTER the US chose the option Canada was literally just about to pick and Canada changed their mind at the last second.
Fuck the US but don't act like Canada's shit smells any better, it will lead Canada to ruin to believe that.
You can look at it that way, out you can look at it like this: Canada recognized that it could go down that path and so one of our political parties presented a solution so we didn't have to.
Our former PM chose to resign as he understood he was so disliked that our conservatives would win. When has an American politician put aside their personal aspirations for the good of their country?
Still sure out shit smells as bad as yours?
Canada would have made precisely the same choice of stepping on a rake and slamming themselves in the face with stupid conservative politics if the US hadn't done it first and demonstrated how dumb of a choice it is.
Pierre Poilievre only got 41% of the vote in the 2025 federal election. The reality does not match your personal narrative.
Conservatives gained 25 seats and got over 2M more votes in 2025 from 2021. The reason the Liberals held onto a minority government is thanks to voters abandoning the NDP and Greens. Unless Carney starts delivering on the environment and for workers, I doubt he'll be able to retain those voters in another election.
A lot of the NDP voters I know both voted Liberal this election and regret doing that. The best part of this seems to be that the NDP seems to have woken up and started to be a party again.
"Only"?
You want a thank-you card for being so noble in addition to always being exceptional? If you need any more emotional support, just let a Canadian know.
No, fuck the US I am making this point to highlight how vulnerable Canada is to the same fascist collapse especially with Carney in charge who is just as damning for the resistance against fascism as Biden was.
Again Pierre Poilievre did not ever breach past 50% in vote share.
Stop acting high and mighty Americans.
