Seems like it's hubris / arrogance - a poorly considered attempt to create some kind of ideal social experience.
Been reading up on it a bit, yeah, seems to be the case indeed. Shame it went that way for them.
They thought they could covertly silence leftists and trans people. Par for the course with bigoted fascists.
It seems they want to silence any kind of hate speech, so I guess some hateful leftists or aggressive trans people (as few as there may be) felt discriminated.
Hate speech is speech encouraging/justifying violence based on inherent characteristics, such as race, gender, sexuality, etc, not just speech you hated lmao.
