and this is true of like, all medicine.
My dad is on diabetes and heart medicine, and before he found the ones that work for him they basically just turned him into a zombie, multiple months of him being walking dead that he barely even remembers.
Doctors should really be way more proactive about this, telling people to come back if they're the slightest bit unhappy with the treatment and maybe even offering to try a bunch of different drugs first before setting on one.
It's frankly disgusting that they just leave patients to potentially suffer their entire lives if the person never decides to complain about the medicine.
