I ask that you judge atheists by the enemies we have made

c/atheism Ground rules:
No identity based hate against people/groups will be tolerated. Dunking on people or religion for their deeds in allowed but blind hate it not.
Follow all Hexbear rules
I would like to gently suggest that when you feel a need to make a "bold" statement, you first take a breath and ask yourself if there are reasons it could be incorrect. Maybe you can't think of any, and that's fine, maybe in some cases you are right (not here) and in some cases you just can't figure out the error and need help (like we all do sometimes).
I say this in part because I just can't imagine how else such warped, obviously false, and ideologically deeply incoherent claims get made, except that the above question needed to be asked but wasn't.
Reddit atheism was chauvinistic and philosophically profoundly backwards. Their intellectual posturing was pathetic and senseless and they used a veil of faux-progressivism to attack social minorities and cheerlead war.
Reddit atheists were like Democrats in that they have the most ridiculous opposition, mainly American evangelicals, to make themselves look good but that didn't prevent them from being complete fools
Incidentally, ironic distancing is reactionary and we should seek to have sincerity in any decent progressive movement.
I hate to be the “I was only being ironic” guy, but in this case my intent was to make a joke how these christian nationalists made me miss the reddit atheist, so I rewrote it to clarify.
It was poorly worded and I take full responsibility for that.
