horrifically sappy post
I've never really been able to share my thoughts, grievances, experiences or interests without being told I'm annoying, should get back to work, complain too much, am doing so just to avoid work, should man up, or straight up being ignored.
Of course there were a handful of exceptions (2 or 3 at most) before I joined lemmygrad, but they were quite limited in scope and I still had to do my best not to turn people off (undiagnosed 'tism and all).
Having literally nobody but yourself to take you seriously is horrendously isolating. Even if this is just an online forum for MLs, knowing that someone will at least know what I'm going through and not tell me to "stop looking for excuses not to work" or to stop being soft, is genuinely comforting.
Maybe it's just that I've never had a safe space before, but now I know that I have somewhere to air my frustrations without being momentarily insulted.
Never thought I'd call complete strangers comrades, but I never thought I would ever call anyone a comrade either.
So, thanks. o7
Glad you are settling in comfortably. Many of the lemmy.ml folks are pretty cool too, and I've been enjoying the hexbear comrades for years now.
Being on lemmygrad, you are insulated from most of the "scratched liberals" of the lemmyverse.
Solidarity with hexbearist comrades o7
