Hey comrades :) <3!!!…..I hope you’ve all been doing okay. It’s been about a month since my last update and I’ve genuinely missed checking in with everyone here.

A few people reached out because they hadn’t seen my updates and it really meant a lot to know you were thinking of us. I wanted to come back and let you know how things have been.

First, I want to share some good news.

Thanks to your kindness and solidarity, the girls safely made it to Canada. The support this community gave helped us pay their medical bills and prepare them for their journey.

A few days ago, I spoke with Charity on WhatsApp…She’s settling into life in Toronto now, while the others have been placed in different parts of Canada. She even sent me photos from her new life there. Seeing those pictures was emotional. After everything we’ve survived together, I never imagined we’d reach this point.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, none of this would have been possible without you .

After the last fundraiser, I finally felt some relief. For the first time in a long while, I didn’t feel like I had anything new to ask the community for. I wanted to step back, catch my breath and simply be grateful.

But over the past month, things have slowly become difficult again.

I’m still here in juba South Sudan, trying to rebuild my life while hoping for my own chance to reach safety someday.

Without a steady income, the little we had gradually went toward rent, food and other everyday essentials until there was nothing left.

Today, our landlord came asking for the overdue rent.

We’re now two months behind and we’ve completely run out of food again.

Right now, we’re trying to raise $ 800 to cover the two months of overdue rent. Any support beyond that will go directly toward restocking food, groceries and other basic necessities so we can get through the coming weeks.

Moderator Pinning Rules:

Moderators are strictly prohibited from promoting/endorsing/pinning individual mutual aid requests (especially those of their own) as this creates unfair post visibility and could therefore benefit more from that than the standard user. Moderators caught engaging in this behavior will be swiftly removed from the moderator board with extreme prejudice.
Moderators are allowed to pin and crosspost donation requests for large scope issues such as natural disaster relief funds and bail funds ((Example)[https://hexbear.net/post/16574) along with other crowd or moderator-compiled informational resources pertaining to donating or volunteering (Example), so long as the utmost due diligence is done prior to endorsement, especially in the case of directing people to donate to non-profit organizations.
Financial documents of non-profit organizations available to the public must be heavily scrutinized before moderator endorsement, and links to those must also be included in the endorsement post to help the community make their own decision if they should donate.
