That's a good question and I wonder how aware of his exhusband's fast "friendship" and the fact he was a guest to his ~~island~~ nyc subsidiary in multiple occasions, because their divorce came quickly after the revelation.
For the record, Gates did NOT go to the island, ever. Not even once.
He was a frequent guest at Epstein's Manhattan penthouse, but never the island. He refuses to say why he never went to the island, other than saying it's not for him. It is rumored he caught an STD from someone at the penthouse.
None of this excuses Gates, since he clearly associated with Epstein. Just correcting the record on a detail.
The rumor came from an email written by Epstein himself, so it's either a malicious rumor or a fact.
how could you source such a fact?
So now that Gates denies it, the burden of proof is on everyone else to provide evidence that he was on the island.
considering i am not a courthouse, nor will this case ever see the inside of one, i disagree with your premise.

We don't need proof. There is no indication he knew Epstein or that he even is part of the class that could visit the island.

I am sure she was fine with it because she married him and grew rich off his unethical business practices. She got what she wanted.
Yeah, I don't quite understand why or how we try to give the wives of these evil megalomaniac billionaires a free pass.
They are either complicit, helping them to be evil megalomaniac billionaires, or they simply do not care what the evil megalomaniac billionaires do as long as they get to live the rich life.
The reason is sexism.
Either people believe the wives to be innocent because something something men suck women are the best and can do no wrong unlike evil men,
Or
People believe the wives re innocent becausw they think the women too dumb to know what was going on or too disinterested to find out.
Both are sexist bullshit pushed by people who don't understand the rich are all in it together, and are all opposed to being held accountable by the poors
