Food companies and restaurants have started putting out products they've released before, but keep labeling them New to draw in people who want to try new things
Also they remove items and claim that they aren't selling in order to bring them back years later after drumming up nostalgia demand. See: Dunkaroos, Surge soda, Hershey's Cookie and Mint.
All of the above items were repackaged and sold as premium when they "came back due to popular demand". Fast food places do this a lot as well.
I paid $18 for a 12 back of 16 oz cans of Surge when it cam back because it was a childhood product.
They did this at the Woolworths grocery stores in 2016. All the store brand products started disappearing and new "budget" brands started showing up at 50-100% the price.
OK when is Red Bull going to bring Cranberry flavor back.
