AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
This is hilarious, why didn't get just use the many existing original posters?
Probably because of personalisation. I assume the idea is to eventually present you a hyper targeted advertismebt of a poster (if they aren't already).

Or, if they just wanted to get a shot of Kirk from this movie, they could screenshot any of the tens of thousands of frames of him from that very movie, which they own and for which they are making the thumbnail.
