Would be nice if Mamdani commented on this, but there's not much he can legally do as the mayor of NYC. (Not a fan of Mamdani btw, just remarking that elected officials have jurisdiction over specific territory.)
My hands are tied ๐ค
I'm not arguing that his hands are tied. I said "there's not much he can legally do as the mayor of NYC". Obviously it would be pretty based if he did like a direct action or something outside the law or even illegal...but people like that do not self-select to become elected politicians. I.e., it's not a personal flaw with Mamdani specifically, it's that all politicians self-select to be complicit in the bourgeois regime, and that politicians should not be considered vehicles of liberation.
Again, I'm not defending Mamdani. I'm saying that he's a non-extraordinary example of a politician, who intrinsically, impersonally deserves our scorn ๐ด๐ฉ
Right. I can't do anything legally so I'll just do nothing. Even though I'm usually some sort of political superhero. But only when it's legal.
