Wasn’t he just caught pumping his numbers on Spotify like six months ago? My first thought when I heard this story was that it was that all over again, but apparently this time Spotify is also involved? Bailed on them years ago, constantly reminded that was the right call.

He has been accused multiple times and there have been a couple of lawsuits against Spotify for allegedly letting it happen, but as far as I can tell nobody has been able to definitively prove anything because Spotify just waves their mandatory arbitration clause around and shuts down lawsuits before discovery can happen

Thanks for the extra info, I never paid much attention the last time it cropped up (because fuck all parties involved), so I had thought it was Spotify going after him as opposed to what sounds like them turning a blind eye to the situation. I guess for them, any amount of perceived usage of their product is a win. I wish the either the courts or congress would do something about arbitration clauses in terms of service, they are highly anti-consumer.
