I am more than a little concerned about this, while I do not think it is probable, it sure does seem like this has mutated to transmit more easily, and I would not put it past some group or country to have done this purposefully and released it. 21st century bitch.
For instance, someone caught it that sat two seats behind someone on an airplane. Plus everything else, it seems like this shit is going airborne. And if it did Health officials would be telling us what they are now.
If it was engineered which I'm not saying it was even if it is more contagious, obviously the people that engineered it would have their own vaccine for it. Not saying that's the case.

Another good link with very detailed (very technical) info https://virological.org/t/preliminary-analysis-of-orthohantavirus-andesense-virus-sequences-from-a-cruise-ship-related-cluster-may-2026/1029
If this was a new variant that is exactly what they would tell us though, and it is spreading more than this Andes variant is supposed to.

And that was on land. There's no precedent for a cruise ship, a hilariously infectious environment. Fuck cruise ships forever, I wish we could just ban them.
One person got it from sitting on an airplane seat two rows behind somebody that had it.
While I agree cruise ships are incubators of pathogens, and full of fat people, the last part being neither here nor there but I'm going to mention it anyway, I am starting to get a little worried about this.
Not a lot I don't think it's likely, but if Hanta became more infectious it could be a really big fucking deal. What if some assholes were doing gain of function testing and it got loose?
