Finally got rid of Manchin, and then this brain damaged idiot takes his place.
IMO literally took his place.
My theory is that the DNC and the Dem establishment, in order to ensure that they can mouth leftist platitudes without the risk of actually advancing leftist interests and thereby alienating their big money donors, always have at least one or two ringers - people who, for one reason or another (most likely because they're bribeable and bribed or extortable and extorted) can be counted on to, when necessary, cast the vote(s) that ensure that the Republicans don't quite lose.
So Fetterman, just like Manchin (and Sinema) before him, is doing exactly what he's supposed to do.
That sounds...too likely😭
I used to believe that but what is the point anymore? They have the literal keys to the kingdom and speed running fascism. Why pretend anymore?
Because the American people are a violent bunch, so they have to somewhat pretend otherwise face that violence. If the democratic base used that violence against the democratic leadership I'm sure the republicans would be cheering and suddenly you have both sides rooting for violence against government officials, which can quickly spiral out of control.
Manchin at least was a ‘D’ seat a fraction of the time, but instead it’s a regular ‘R’ seat now; imo it was a trade down. With Fetterman it’s just a complete waste since we could have an actual Democrat in that seat. I feel it’s more like a Sinema situation.
