It's a US government thing from what I have gathered. Having an employee with security clearance helps companies applying for contracts. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) registered nurse actually. but when a job offers a bonus like that it's because the place is really sketchy but they're banking on you not being able to pay back the taxes that were taken out of the bonus you now owe them back if you quit in the next two years. like one of those nursing homes or for my specialty usually a state psych hospital where you've got like 40 patients a night and two techs if it's an acute unit and it turns out somebody hung themselves while the techs slept through the last two rounds because they're paying them less than Walmart and they don't GAF. permalink fedilink source parent
