Really early into my transition the sibling of a work colleague set up shop in my workplace after school to do homework while she waited for her older sister to finish her shift. We barely talked except to exchange pleasantries.
One day she hands me a pen-on-napkin sketch of tithonis-as-she-really-is well before I could even fathom that for myself, much less that anyone else would see that in me. I still have that somewhere. I'll cherish it forever. There are people out there who see us even when we're not able to see ourselves. It's so good to know that there are people who see us as we are even on the bad days.
