๐ฎ๐ท At least 34 Iran-linked tankers and gas carriers have broken through the US naval blockade of Iranian ports, according to Bloomberg, citing data from analytics firm Vortexa.
19 vessels exited the Persian Gulf past the blockade line, 15 entered โ crossing a cordon stretching from Oman's Ras al-Hadd coast northeast to the Iran-Pakistan border.
The US Navy simply doesn't have enough ships on station to intercept and detain every vessel moving in and out of Iranian ports.
Plus even the ones they do detain are costing them millions in fuel and maintenance. Surely even monopoly finance capital will realize there's upper limits to what can be captured.
If I was writing the movie of this blockade this would be the part where Iran springs a trap.
trapIran sends out an empty tanker moving at a speed a full tanker would go. They catch a us navy destroyer's eye and get them to chase, slowly increasing their speed while dropping some sea mines and drones. (there's some low ranking guy in the american ship warning the captain that the tanker is accelerating too fast and this could be a trap but he gets ignored) The americans send out their boarding helicopter and a couple IRGC dudes with MANPADs blow it the fuck out of the sky. The american captain freaks out and orders his men to open fire but its too late, they clip a sea mine. Then cut to the outside and 4 seadoo sized drones smash into the hull and explode in short order.
