The first article you linked is literally about how the student loan forgiveness plan failed. They were going for 40 million and got forgiveness for 8 million, or 1/5th what they said they were going to do. There were also restrictions on who was eligible that screwed a lot of people out of loan forgiveness.

If I showed up to my job and did 1/5th of what I was hired to do I’d get fired.

Preferably if the obnoxious wanker in the next door cell blocked and obstructed your attempts at every turn, he would get fired instead, or your boss is a shit boss who has no idea whatsoever what's going on at your firm, and he should be fired as well as the obnoxious wanker.

If it was news to anyone involved that Republicans were going to try to kneecap them at every turn then they’re too naive to be in politics. Instead they promise shit over and over they know they can’t fulfill and wonder why the next big thing they’re promising (but can’t remotely follow through on) isn’t drawing in more votes.

Ah, you're so right. They should have campaigned on a platform of "Republicans will block our every move. There's no point pretending we can achieve anything in government unless we win both houses. Stay home and keep your expectations low."

It might be catoblepas's first decade paying attention to the cycle which is why they're so disheartened by and bitter about it. Like Iraq war 2 desert boogaloo threw me for a loop, it was my wakeup. It takes some time to get from there to "okay let's do shit about it" and we process at our own speeds

They had both houses. Still couldn't pass higher minimum wage.

They spent a whole day on it! Maybe two.

Did they pass, perhaps, a lower minimum wage than desired, but still an increase?

Nah, why bother.

(classic Democratic worthlessness; our other choice is Republican incompetence)
