What could they do with a nuke that they aren't already doing?
depends how the war ends tbh. if the us declares victory and pulls out, it may be in iran's best interest to get nukes to deter them from regrouping and coming back with a better plan. then again, i've recently had it pointed out to me that if the mossad catches wind that iran actually does have a nuclear program, israel may decide to strike before they get it working.
I don't think the US gets to unilaterally decide when this war ends anymore. Iran gets a vote on when this war ends, if the US declares victory and all the ships sail home, nothing stops Iran from continuing to hit targets in the Strait and hit regional US assets.
Also an Iranian official (can't remember who) said even if usa pulled all its troops and equipment out of all the bases Iran will keep hitting isis-rael.
of course you're right, but at that point it still might make sense to get the nuclear deterrent to prevent the enemy from regrouping and coming back. or rather, it would be a tactical retreat on the us's part, not a true end to the war. i'm not smart enough to say but i think it might still make sense for iran to get nukes.

It'd solve global warming, which is arguably more important.
It'd force western nations to repeal Iranian sanctions to gain access to Iranian oil, which would benefit Iran economically. We saw something similar with the EU and Russia.
It'd reduce the scale of war and make invasion infeasible, since any military action requires oil

Iran is gonna nuke oil fields but usa isn't going to use nukes on their oil fields in retaliation? no. not happening
It wouldn't do anything to stop climate change. The oil fields and gas wells that are tapped would just burn into the atmosphere for no gain. In a few years other oil (likely in Venezuela) would be tapped harder to catch up with demand.
30-35% of the worlds fertilizer comes from that region and would be irradiated leading to massive famine.
No there are no positive outcomes from using nukes. Never.
If the US nukes Iran’s oil fields in retaliation, there will be no cheap oil on earth, and energy supply will be centralized around China’s supply of renewables infrastructure, and/or Russian oil.
Either way, it will be the end of capitalism centred around western hegemony as we know it.
What’s unique about oil fields in the gulf and Iran is that these reserves are what’s considered light crude. It needs minimal refinement and purification to become the final product. They can still supply crude oil profitably even when the oil price falls to around $20/barrel, as we’ve seen in Covid.
Reserves in Venezuela and Canada are what’s known as heavy sour crude. It needs dilution, purification and cracking to reach the final product. The US reserves in the Gulf of Mexico are extremely hard to get to, and thus, expensive.
So, no. They can’t nuke Iran if Iran nukes Saudi. Not if they want some semblance of western hegemony in the future.
A nuke over Jerusalem is much bigger than 4 ballistic missiles.
Edit:- y'all are right. I was just really pissed at the concept of Israel always getting away with committing atrocities. I still maintain that Iran should Nuke Israel in retaliation. Nothing will change that.
That would contaminate Palestinian land and have a yield that would spread to east Jerusalem.
but that wouldn't make things better for anyone. They are winning. Why would they change anything?
