A pet schizoid head theory: Every time I have a weird thought about "what if I crashed here/drove into oncoming traffic/the boat I'm on sank/the plane I'm in crashed into another plane/hadn't avoided a near death experience" that my original timeline is split and that thing did happen and I died but I'm hopped into the timeline where it didn't happen and was just a thought. (It'd be kinda like SOMA where you can just see the glimmer of this concept at times)
Real theory that I can't prove: All of the US government (with a couple small outliers) is run by Israel and its proxies and christofascism is part of that plan. And this isn't an anti Jewish thing. I have nothing against Jews, I have everything against Israel. It's an "AIPAC runs both parties and works with others to ensure the downfall of the us continues along their approved course" thing.
Edit: For the uninitiated SOMA as I reference here is a light horror game that dabbles in concepts akin to what I'm now learning is called quantum immortality.

Your first theory is called quantum immortality.
Oh really? That's kinda cool, I had no idea it had a name. I'll have to search for more info on it.
I both love and hate finding out my weird thoughts have a basis elsewhere. On the one hand I like that there is more to learn about it and more opinions and perspectives to see. Sometimes makes me feel less crazy. On the other hand I don't like being reminded that I have zero original thoughts. And I worry that we are all equally crazy. Lol
It's fun to dereference jargon - like an initialism - the first time you use it. And really helpful!
yeah I only know it from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, but doesn't fit the context
Yeah definitely didn't mean the literary reference.
SOMA as I reference here is a light horror game that dabbles in concepts akin to what I'm now learning is called quantum immortality. Though the implementation in game is probably more closely an experiment in applied ships of Theseus. It just asks the question and explores the concept of "what makes you, you". Though you do have moments where you catch a glimpse of yourself dying.

I suppose I should've done the same with AIPAC? ๐
As the other commentor mentioned, SOMA as I referenced here, is a video game. Within the game you can momentarily see yourself die at times and it has some philosophical discussion around this concept and what makes you, you.

It's a very interesting videogame!
