I’m sorry, but given that the deer was dead, wasn’t this guy basically fucking a piece of venison?

Not that that makes it morally okay and I’m sure there are some indecent exposure type charges that apply, but the deer doesn’t care anymore, which is the point of bestiality laws

You don't want people killing deer just to have sex with them.

That's how you get Lyme disease.

Would you be ok if he fucked a human corpse? Dug it out, and fucked it?

Simple

Just a little tender tenderizing.

[-] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago

Exactly. Can a man not beat his meat in the privacy of a road shoulder anymore? What is this world coming to?

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 13 hours ago

I'm going to create my own Kentucky, with blackjack and hookers!

which is the point of bestiality laws

If that were true our laws around meat farming would be very different

[-] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Clever. I wish I’d gotten a serious discussion out of this, but that’s the community.

[-] ghurab@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

But his comment is relevant the toppic.

Modern industrial famring utilizes forced insemination with a tool operated by a human.

A reasonable person could argue that it's not sexual assault becuase the act was not for sextial gratification, but purely utilitarian in order to obtain a baby cow, disregarding the welfare of the cow.

In other words, whether an act is sexual assault or not depends on the intentions of the actor, regardless of the experience of the subject and physical nature of the act.

If you fill in "human" as your subject in the above formula, a reasonable person could conclude that the experience of the subject does, infact, matter.

You got it. This is why I went vegan for years.

[-] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I’m aware. I’m a vegan because I’m not down for animal rape. The bestiality laws are written with exceptions for people who are acting, not out of their own sexual interest, but out of financial interest.

I wanted to have a slightly different discussion, because this one’s depressing as shit though.

[-] krashmo@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

A serious discussion about the ethics of bestiality? If that's the kind of place you're looking for I think you might have to create it yourself.

[-] Tonava@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 day ago

Honestly it would be really interesting to read that discussion, if it stayed objective and not divert to memeing. You can argue bestiality shouldn't be forbidden by specific laws (but animal welfare laws) since if we make laws based on what we find gross, that's how we get bans on homosexuality for example. Also you could argue that animals can actually consent in some ways, since if a male dog is willing to hump anything, isn't that consenting? But then on the other hand in comparison if a person of limited mental capacity is willing to fuck anything, is fucking them ethical?

Anyway, after writing that I find it important to point out that I'm personally aromantic asexual and absolutely do not want to fuck anything lmao. Though maybe that also has something to do with how I can look at these concepts from a distance, since they have nothing to do with me

[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago

The keyword is informed consent, which requires full understanding of the situation. Children, animals, and impaired people can't give informed consent.

[-] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

I don’t think I have the moderating skills, lol.
