Pewdiepie is discovered to own a book about an "International Jewish Conspiracy". r/Destiny asks if the left has gone too far

So? Just having a book doesn't mean you agree with it. I have a book of Mormon somewhere in the house but I'm not Mormon.

This is lame. It's perfectly fine to read problematic books

I own copies of Mein Kampf, the Communist Manifesto, the Bible, the Quran, and Dianetics. This doesn’t mean anything tbh

Having schizo books doesn't mean you endorse whatever they espouse. I have an assortment of religious texts, doesn't mean I believe in any of them.

Is this 2016-17? Did we go back 10 years in time?

Maybe it was rule 1 from the instance code of conduct, not slop's specific rules:

Usernames or posts/comments containing extreme transphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, ableism, zionism, anti-veganism, or trivializing and downplaying COVID. This includes satire or parody accounts that ironically use bigotry rather than "punch up" to power.

It looks like with API v1.0.0 Lemmy will require a reason for moderator action. Doesn't mean it'll be a good or specific or non-vague reason, but it'll be required at least...
