The Tigray thing feels like such a bizarre pull.
I'm no expert on the nuances of Ethiopian politics, but my understanding is that it's less that Ethiopia is genocidimg the Tigray people, but that the legacies of the Ethiopian monarchy, and a botched Socialist experiment has left the country a prisonhouse of nations, that's Perpetually on the brink of balkanizing itself.
Any Ethiopia experts wanna chime in?
idk, all I know about it is whatever Timnit Gebru posts. I don't think I would have heard about it otherwise.
