What do you think about asking on online retailer to refund a portion of your order if they put the products you bought on sale just a couple days later?

Bit cheeky to ask? Or fair enough?

I have a friend who is intense with money, like bordering r/beggingchoosers material, and I'm always surprised how many retailers will actually send her samples, discount codes, or whatever else.

I think it's just... Asking them for free money, and providing a reason that doesn't lend itself to why you should be entitled to free money

As long as you’re polite I don’t see any harm in asking. Unless it’s a small business where there’s just one owner operator doing small solo trading.

Hmm this is tricky. I know that some like videogame store fronts will offer to refunded price but into your wallet. But not too sure about retailers. They might just offer a coupon or a discount for a future item.
