You touch on organic chemistry in high school and get into the basics in most undergraduate degrees where it's relevant. At least in my experience.
If you've passed high school chemistry you've been told about alkanes, acid-base chemistry, polarity and stereochemistry. Which covers the very basics of organic chemistry.
