yeah, lets also get rid of evelators, escalators and wheelchair ramps, because why should we care about people that can't walk.

of fucking course it's societies responsibility to work for the people that make it up and of fucking course that's often not the case regardless of ones bodily configuration. the world is full of processes that don't serve anyone and tackling those is what's called progress.

but hey, whatever, live's probably fine for you right now, so all must be perfect.

Apart from moral and legal responsibilities to accommodate folks I've heard it phrased as "Many people will experience disability in their lifetime, especially as they age." as a way for people who do not currently experience disability to understand it in the context of their own lives and experiences.

I hate to admit but disability was always abstract to me until I experienced it, but that's why it's important to listen to lived experience and seek better for people in general not just ourselves.
