It's still wild to me how the US can have prisons full of slave labour (some of them even used to be plantations), where prisoners regularly die of disease outbreaks, hypothermia or heatstroke, and the majority of the prisoner population is ethnic minorities, but nobody in popular has even thought to call them concentration camps.
If China had a prisoner population with an outsized percentage of black people, and those people were worked to the bone, then punished for not working harder, and left to die from all sorts of causes, then reddit would be full of nothing but pictures of that. Instead all we get is tankman and maybe a picture of an office building labelled "concentration camp".
