There is some logic to this one, but its generally outdated. In the past houses would often have a cold water tank in the loft that was filled by the mains, the kitchen tap was directly fed by the mains but your bathroom tap would be fed from this water tank. These loft water tanks were frequently open, if they did have a lid it would be a sheet the homeowner stuck over the top.
I remember hearing a story where a dead body was found in one of those loft water tanks on top of a hotel or something, and they only found it because the water started getting funny
Yeah, I think her name was Elisa Lam? Yep, wikipedia article of it. It got really big in the scary happenings side of the internet, because the whole thing was strange. They found security footage of the elevator from right before she passed, and she was acting strangely, then they kind of just assume she climbed in the tank, and died there.
