On January 7th, 37-year-old Renee Good was murdered by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. While a considerable amount of the discussion online has been about the direction her wheels were turning and things like that, truthfully, I think it's just fundamentally bad to shoot a person to death with a gun if you happen to be a state mercenary enforcing an incredibly racist federal policy, regardless of the circumstances.
The murder has since prompted a wave of vigils and protests, not only in Minneapolis, but also in virtually every major city in the country. The demands are justice for Good in particular, and the abolition of ICE in general, to avenge its many victims. The Trump administration has done all they can to inflame the situation, designating Good a "domestic terrorist" and saying that the agent who shot her will be immune from prosecution.
Protests and resistance to this administration's policies have, encouragingly, had an element of international solidarity - not only are flags from countries throughout Latin America (and also Palestine) present, but speakers in protests have even been actively condemning the recent imperialist actions against Venezuela. For it is, of course, one joint struggle. The imperial boomerang always returns - and in the modern day, it returns rapidly.

He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

Yeah this is sort of bad news. The PLC having to worry about both factions lifted pressure off ansarallah.
On the upside, Iran and Saudi Arabia haven't been on terrible terms for a while, especially since they stopped shelling the border posts into Houthi-controlled Yemen.
They were briefly at the same side from 2019ish - december 2025. They were part of the Riyadh Agreement until out of nowhere they invaded all of southerne Yemen and declared South Yemen 2, and then they got destroyed in 7 days by the Saudis.
EDIT: I see South Yemen is threatening the Houthis. It makes my analysis below bunk. Yea this doesn't look good. But the Saudi's already spent a quarter trillion on fighting the Houthis, and that didn't go so well. And fighting the Houthis now??? Given their popularity throughout the Muslim world, that's quite crazy. But maybe they want to further exploit Iran's weakness and vulnerability.

The UAE-Israel pact surrounding Saudi Arabia, getting more bold, and taking more territory - became the main threat to Saudi Arabia right now.
Iran was in that position until recently. Iran's retreat and broken axis of resistance to the North of Saudi Arabia, means Iran is not their main threat right now.
Before, Saudi Arabia could sit back and let Iran and Israel duke it out, and they could close their eyes to the Israeli Aretz including Saudi territory.
Now Israel is their problem.
The defeats have turned Iran into the #3 player in the region instead of the #2. So Iran can now focus on internal stability while the Saudi stresses out about all this stuff instead.
Saudi has to focus on Somaliland and Sudan now. The Iranians are also fighting against the UAE there.
I would say a minor setback. It is easier for houthis to attack saudi oilfields than to UAE oilfields but ı think UAE bleeding Saudis even more while retreating would have been better for houthis
If not Yemen, the Saudi and emirati armies will be finding new and creative ways to turn each other into paste and the benefit of neither.
